New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year's Eve!
We are preparing a mini-party for our family... We're decorating our family room with streamers and balloons! We might play Scrabble tonight and eat hors d'ourves. Yum!

Pente!

Do you know how to play Pente?
It's like a logic game and it's really quick, but takes a lot of thinking sometimes!
You try to get either 5 stones in a row (Pente means five in Greek, apparently) or capture 5 pairs of your opponent's stones.

Hannah and I are in a tournament of  100 Pente games to see the percentages of our logic-ness. So far, I'm winning which both of us found extremely surprising... I'm not usually stronger in the logic/puzzle category compared to Hannah, but not today!

It's been a nice, relaxing day

Hi! So, today, we kind of just relaxed... it was nice!
We got together with our good friend Sierra, and that was fun!!!!!!! We played Quelf, talked, and had a good time!!

Quite a good day today.

Our first batch is.... Chocolate! It was really easy to make, but hard to... wait?
YES. We want to eat some now, but it'll be ready in about 5 minutes. :D

Today we ran! It was sort of hard, because there were lots of hills, but I liked it all the same. :D
We got some running watches for Christmas, and that made it fun as well, though, because we wanted to test them out some more. :)
Speaking of Christmas, yesterday was really fun! We got up at 7:30ish and opened stocking stuff, and then ate breakfast, and then opened presents, and etc etc! One thing Sar and I want to test out tonight is the ice cream maker that our aunt gave us... :D :D :D Yay for ice cream! (Ice cream for EVERYONE! ... Leah... :) ) Hmmm... what flavor?? :)

Over the last few weeks, we've been working on our own twist of Lord of the Rings....Christmas style!!!

We included some funny scenes and some we got from watching/reading LOTR (+Christmas style)

TWO MORE DAYS!

   

Just two more days!??!!? And I still can't believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve!! Already? CRaZy! :O Well, we are going to make Sausage Cheese Balls for our hors d'œuvres that we have as a tradition for Christmas Eve night. And then we watch It's a Wonderful Life and then read Twas the Night Before Christmas and then go to bed. I like our traditions. :)

Yesterday, we made our own version of the game clue! :) It was really fun! We made our own characters, background, bios for the characters, and the entire game board, the cards, EVERYTHING!! It was so much fun and really worth it! It was pretty hard to get the measurements right for the squares but it turned out all right.

MUFFINS!

This morning Hannah and I made streusel muffins! We made them in Santa hats and played Christmas music. They were really fun to make! As a matter of fact, they are in the oven right now.

There was this one week where I ate 16 1/2 muffins. IT WAS AWESOME. On one of those days I ate 7. There were lemon poppyseed, pumpkin and coffee cake.

Ok, I know that almost all of these posts have been about winter/Christmas, but still. It IS that time of year again. We just came back from a walk and it was pretty cold out there. And still, no forecast for snow. But it did rain this morning, so maybe that little bit of precipitation will bring on the snow! Tonight we are having our youth group party at our house, and I think it will be fun! Right now, we are making our own board game, based off of CLUE but with our own characters. It's really fun to make our own versions! Speaking of which, I think I'll work on that now... :)

Ahh, our first full day of winter break!
Today we mostly hung out at home. Hannah and I made our own version of CLUE board game. That was fun. There's our own characters (with good names, like Eva Wayside and Laurence Meyers.) We watched a movie at the Pickford, called Le Havre. Today was practically perfect in every way. :D

Winter Break + Christmas Traditions

Wow! It's almost Christmas!!!!
AND IT'S WINTER BREAK!
Such a relief! Almost no homework, and no snow yet! :( Oh well, that won't dampen our spirits.
I was so excited once school was out. I turned a circle by my locker to celebrate, as I didn't have the courage to run down the hall shouting: "MEERRRRRRRRRRRRY CHRISTMAS!" like in It's a Wonderful Life. For those of you who don't know, that's the movie we watch every Christmas Eve. And then we read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas". We have collected several versions over the years and so now we all take turns looking at the different illustrations in each book And then we go to bed. And then it's Christmas!!!

Christmas is coming!

Christmas is coming soon! I can't believe that there's only 10 more days!!! It seems too soon! (Not that we're not excited for Christmas... just there's... well, it's probably the diminished snow levels. Actually, there's not any snow at all. :( Sad.) We love seeing the snow, (if it'll come) the Christmas lights, and the treats, and the tree, and everything about the whole season! (Oh, and the carols!) 'Tis, the season to be jolly... fa la la la la... la la la la la!

Post Number One!

Well, we are both really excited to start this blog! The idea of a blog has always sort of sounded like fun, so now, looks like we're going to try it! Today we ran a lot, almost an hour straight! It was hard but it was fun. There's a lot of the hills that are really steep, but it was easier now than last time. Also, we are making truffles for French... hope they turn out all right! :) We are happy to start this blog! It's fun!
