Run in the... snow?

Today we decided to go running out in the snow... even though it was really hard to see!
It wasn't too cold, but seeing in front of you was a little difficult, and I had a runny nose.
And now my legs are tired and I still have 20 minutes of violin to practice... dang. :|
Oh well!

Mid-winter break + family photos + lots of random things!

Well, winter break was SO much fun!
We went to Seattle with our french class to look at the Gauguin exibit and then we just wandered around the city too!
Right after that ended, we went to "Graceland's" trip to the Fir's Chalet at Mt. Baker!
THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN! We played cards a lot! We played carpet-ball a lot! We went outside... well, a few times. But it was all really fun anyway!
Oh, and you know how much Sar and I like (*em* excuse me, ) LOVE fonts? Well, we downloaded "Tall Paul" one of our favorite fonts onto the computer! And what triggered that was probably the book that our dad gave us this weekend: Just My Type. It's all about fonts, and for nerds like us we like that. :D

Chute Stir-Fry

Okay, we made a really yummy stir fry last night with Celeste, and we sort of made it up, but it was really fun! Here's the recipe: (You should make it! It was great!)

Ingredients:

• 2 cups water
• 4 Teaspoons of butter
• 2 boxes of Rice-A-Roni (Fried rice flavor)
• Red bell peppers
• Celery
• Red onion
• Carrots
• Cut up leftover steak but any meat will do

SAUCE:

• 2 tablespoons Corn Starch
• 3 tablespoons brown sugar
• 1/8 teaspoon Crushed Red OR Cayenne Pepper
• 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/8th cup of water (As a healthier sub for 1/2 cup of corn syrup)
• 1/2 cup soy sauce
• 1 tablespoon sesame oil
• 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (But we used 1/2 TBS of white vinegar and 1/2 TBS of water)
• 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
• 2 teaspoons minced garlic

                                                                                                                                                                       

1. Put butter in a large skillet and pour the Rice-A-Roni into the skillet. 
2. Keep stirring the butter and Rice-A-Roni until rice is browned/cooked. (You can cover with a lid when you aren't stirring.
3. While you are stirring often, combine the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan. Heat on medium until thickens to a syrup-like consistency.
4. Once the rice has been cooked, drain existing water and transfer to an oven-safe dish. Cover dish with aluminum foil. Put in oven on 175 degrees Fahrenheit. 
5. But veggies and water in the skillet. Let cook until preferred tendency of veggies has been reached.
6. Once veggies are cooked, drain remaining water and take out the Rice-A-Roni from the oven. 
7. Drizzle the thickened sauce over veggies and add the steak. Mix well so that the veggies are covered. 
8. Dish up a plate of rice with veggies on top, and enjoy! 

NOTE: This recipe probably serves about five, but there is a lot of sauce. (Really for 12 Servings... :( But we figured better too much sauce than not enough, so we liked it anyway. :D ENJOY!)

Fishies and Ave. Bread

Today after church we went to Avenue Bread downtown with Leah, Zoe, (each other, of course) and Brie. We got a yummy little twist thing that they have there and then we went across the street to Clark's Feed and Seed. We looked at all of the fish and it was REALLY fun! Zoe considered getting goldfish, but then decided not to. But it was really fun anyway just to look at all of the fish and newts and things. :D Now we really want fish... hmmm... which one... must do some research... :)

Picture Day

We are having family pictures done today in about 2 and a half hours! It was a little stressful to find clothes that all matched-looked good, but we are going to wear grey, black and green. It looks pretty cool. We'll post some pictures when we can.

Sudoku

We've been doing a lot of Sudoku recently. There are some good ones at websudoku.com. You can chose from easy-medium-hard-evil. I like the easy ones, but Hannah and Celeste are going for the mediums. (But the easy ones aren't very obvious!!) Enjoy! ;)

Finals today!

Today was our second day of finals... Everything went pretty well and I think I (Sarah) am doing well. (I think Hannah is, too) ;-) We have only one more day of this semester and then on Thursday we'll begin our new semester. I have Racquet sports 2nd period and Hannah has it first, because World Geography is only a 1/2 semester class.

New Design!

How do you like the new design! We were thinking recently that the old one was a bit too much, and so Ham got on the computer and whipped this one up! (with a few additions from Sarah!) Tell us if you like it! :D

Went for a Run!

Just went to Whatcom Falls today! We just got back, it was a nice run, plenty of sunshine!! Hannah got pretty hot on the way back, and I did too, but she was wearing a fleece-lined long sleeve. :\ But it was really great! It felt good to get out and feel like we did something this weekend (other than homework) :)

We went on a run today!

We went on a run at Lake Padden with the cross-country team today...
Sarah and I ran together because we fit with each other speed-wise the best. Also, we took Raney and that was fun, too!

I think we are going to run tomorrow too... I'm glad we are running more, because we haven't in a while. :|

Also, I made a little plaque that we painted about a week ago, but now I'm using it to hang my necklaces. I like it! Celeste showed us how and it was really fun to design. :D
