Happy happy summer days! ☼

Alright! It's been a good couple of days!

Yesterday we went to Lydia's house for a run! It was about 45 minutes.... 2 and 1/2 or 3 miles! It was sort of hot out, but it was bearable. After we ran and we waiting for our mom to pick us up we jumped on Lydia's trampoline for a few minutes. :) That was fun, too!

Life continued as usual, and then at 5:30 we went to Sehome to go on a hill workout. It's a fairly hard workout, but yesterday it felt really good. After we ran there was weightlifting which our mom strongly encouraged us to attend... they've had them about twice a week but we haven't gone to any yet. We were pretty unwilling at first, but once we got there, it was fine and sort of fun! There's another one on Wednesday that I think we are going to.

Today we had driver's ed and well... that was pretty much that. After we got home, we (upon Celeste's previous request) went berry picking at Barbie's Berries out in Ferndale! But wait! There's more!!

Sar and I drove there!! :O

Yes, chalenging tasks were involved.... a roundabout, large trucks, and of course,
the freeway. :O

It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... I was on there longer that Sarah was (we took different routes and mine was a little longer.)... like... 6 miles or so. :O But the worst part wasn't merging, like I thought it would be for me, it was changing lanes to get out of the way of entering vehicles and then getting in behind them so we could get to our exit. But, we were both successful! :) The entire driving took like.... 45 minutes I think!

Well, we all wanted to go for the raspberries, but when we got there, Sarah decided to get a pail to pick some blueberries, too. :)
Here's a picture of the lunch Sar and I made... It's a baguette with arugula and cucumbers and bacon and Balsamic vinegar! so yummy! We made it all up!!

Yay for berry picking!!

:) I like this one
Celeste's berries

Uh oh! Sarah's blueberries spilled!!! :'(

Heart-shaped one!

Filled up the car!

Afterwards, I just chilled out on the deck with Raney. :)

There's not a better phone call to get on a bright sunny day!

We started today by going to church... I (Hannah) was the PowerPoint person... a few mistakes, but it all was pretty smooth. :) After church we went to Harris Avenue Cafe! I got a plate of French toast and fresh fruit with potatoes on the side!!! It was quite the large lunch.

Papa left and went to get Mama from SEATAC, but before he left....

After being home for... say, 1 hour or 30 minutes,  we got a phone call from none other than Anna herself!! We went over to her grandma and grandpa's house and we gave her a set of letters and read them together. After a while, we started picking huckleberries, just munching away at first, but then decided how awesome it would be to bake some huckleberry muffins!! We headed back inside and got everything ready.
The muffins were really yummy! They tasted wonderful! We had a sort of dinner-ish meal before Anna and her mom and sister went back home that was quite delish! :)

We finished up with the muffins and then read some Calvin and Hobbes together... a classic. :)
It was good to see Anna again... and we'll see her in August, because we are going to Vashon Island with her!! :D Yay!

Drivin, Drivin!

Well, today we drove for one hour on Hannegan! It felt pretty fast but...well, manageable. Got up to 50/55ish mph!! That's close to the freeway!!!
We have a drive with our driver's ed peoples coming up on Wednesday. Luckily, this one will be easy, just on normal roads, I'm pretty sure, and we went down to Sudden Valley and Agate Bay yesterday, which was narrow and winding. WE'RE PROS! Just kidding. ;) But on drive #3  with them we go on the freeway... and we've already signed up for two!
Ah, well, we'll just take it as it comes... I guess.

PS- Oh! And we got Brave Temple Run! It's fun! :)

Target and Costo, Babysitting, Pirates, Avenue Bread, Lake Samish, Fairhaven, and Whatcom Falls

Yesterday we went to Target and Costo and at Target, Sarah got these SUPER cute stickers and I got 4 of those scratch off rainbow things! I love those!! :) A few days ago we also watched Beauty and the Beast... ♥♥♥♥♥!!! YAYAYA!!! I love itttttt!!!!!

Last night we babysat, and it was pretty fun! It can be hard to get kids to go to sleep, but it all worked out in the end. :) When we came home, we decided that we wanted to watch a movie! We decided to pick Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End (#3) because we just realized that we hadn't seen it before! :O Sarah and I thought that we had, but we looked at the cover and it was unrecognizable. So, we watched in in my room. Sarah brought her sleeping bag over and it was quite fun. (Though, we did fall asleep in the middle of it. Perhaps more of it tonight? ;) )

Last night (well I suppose it was this morning), Mama left at 4:00am to go to Atlanta! She'll be there for about a week.

In the morning, Celeste woke us up because her friend Emma, had come down and why not do something fun? So we left for Avenue Bread. :) I got an almond croissant. It was goood! But very sweet.

After that, we went to Lake Samish. It was sort of cloudy out, but we all wore shorts anyway in hopes that our summery attire might change the weather. (And it did!) It was a little too cold to swim, but we dipped our feet in. Actually, it was pretty funny because Celeste, Sarah, and I were far down on a rock with our feet in and then a big wave came and almost got us all wet with all our clothes on. We were thinking about paddle boats, but the office opened at 12 and it was only 10. But another day, perhaps. :D

After that we went to Fairhaven and looked in Village Books and then the Paper Dreams. I really like that store! They had this one hanging chair and it was SO comfortable!! I want to fall asleep in it now!! ;) We also went to "Drizzle" which was an olive oil and vinegar tasting shop. It might sound sort of weird but it was really fun! They had lots of weird flavors for OO&V, like orange and chocolate... :P gross. But a lot of them were good, like a rosemary olive oil! Afterwards we went to Fairhaven Toy Garden, and mostly played with their puppets. :) It was a fun day!

We came back home and then Emma left, and Celeste left for a haircut!! Sarah and I decided to go for a run, and it was super hot and hard, but we had a Popsicle and it was yummy. :) and then we had some chocolate milk! And now we are having Arthur mac and cheese and listening to Disney songs!!

Summer :)

Today felt very summery, which felt very good, because as you get older, the summery feeling isn't always there because of places to be, a busier schedule, and--dang it!-- this year we got homework. Remember the feeling when you forgot the day of the week but it didn't matter? It's been a while since I've felt that, and sometimes I wish that I'd feel that...but, of course, forgetting part of your schedule wouldn't be good, either.
summer breeze

We played double solitaire and chess outside for a good bit while we drunk our Sprite. :)
ready for Summertime!
Have a good day!

Random things that pop into Hannah's head

  • Today we went to drivers ed... sort of boring, not really anything to report.
  • We are getting farther along in our summer homework, (reading a book called Salt, and how it influenced history and everything. :P ) but it still isn't very fun.
  • Today is just a BEAUTIFUL day!
  • A few nights ago we watched Monsters Inc
  • I want to see Beauty and the Beast soooon!
  • Last night I felt sick and threw up twice. It wasn't fun.
  • Now I feel better!
  • Bye!

THEMETHEMETHEME

Okay, sorry, folks!
We know that we've been changin' the themes a lot recently... but none seem to be quiet right!
We really like this one, though, and hopefully we will stick to it for a long time! The dots just look so cute! And the colors complement each other so nicely. :) And the hover color a brilliant lime green? Fan-tastic.

This little Beluga reminded us of Leah blowing bubbles underwater!

Just like Leah!

Harry Potter 7.1!

Today we went to Canada and saw our grandparents and cousins! It was fun, we were there for about 8 hours I think!
Anyway, right now we are going to watch Harry Potter 7.1!! Yayaya! Well, I have to go now, the fam fam is calling me over. :)

MALIBU!!!

Malibu was SO incredible! We had a blast!
It took a really long time to get there, but Bellingham was the closest city, so I feel bad for the other people who were from like... Ellensburg and even Seattle because it took a really long time!

One of our first views of Malibu!!
Finally, we arrived! We had dinner there and met some of the "characters", Swag and Yolo, who were people from the future that came and told us that their great grandparents went to Malibu, but it was destroyed on July 6th! (We were there July 3-9th).

Then, later that night, we went outside and had to "protect our leader". Well, I don't think that we protected our leader, Ashley, at all! It was an obstacle course though all sorts of grime and muck... We had to army crawl through mud, and then there were other obstacles, too, but that one was the grossest. And then, at the end of it all, we jumped into the inlet! It was FREEZING! But we   were all so muddy, I'm glad that we did. :)

The next day, we met "Sherman the Merman" who was the one who was going to destroy Malibu. He was angry at everyone because his daughter left him to model for a coffee company. (There were a lot of Little Mermaid and Starbucks references, here. ;) ) He said that humans had no idea how to have fun.... so, we got ready for a race against other cabins. Well, not really a race, but lots of little challenges! Our team's theme was Superman! (And what's weird is that the other SHS boys were dressed as superheroes, too!)

Yahoo! (The leis were for the 4th of July. :D)
"No, throw it more to the left!"

There were lots of things we had to do, like, for example, Sarah had to throw a Frisbee blindfolded, and other things like that. :)

Each day we had about 4 1/2 hours of free time. We spent a lot of that time doing activities on the water!!
There were a lot of things to do... and the first thing we did was wake board! Wake boarding was pretty hard at first... I went down half the inlet putting equal weight on both of my feet, so my board was going straight rather than angled...

Incorrect...
Yay!!! :)

vs.

Sarah had a bit more trouble, but she did get on top of the water for a good 4 seconds!

Anyway, after dinner we would have club. The first few nights was sort of like... who Jesus is and then there were different images of him, and then, after club, we would have cabin time!
Also, sometime during club we would have Buzz, Woody, and Jesse characters come up and we would play some games that either Buzz or Woody made up to impress Jesse. (They both liked her, and it was sort of funny!) On one of the nights I had do be the mustard in a hamburger dog pile. :P Ooh, boy, did I get squished!
That night we had a carnival in the gym there, and we pied Ashley, our leader, a few times. :) Oh, and then we "flushed her" by having her sit under a toilet and then we pulled a string and she would have to sit under the cold, cold water. It was funny. :)

The third day we went on "Dragon Boats" which are like big canoes, and we paddled a total of 4 miles! We went to "Beyond Malibu" which is an intense camp where they do like, week-long hikes and stuff. We also had really yummy hot chocolate with spices in it. :)
That day we also went zip-lining! It was fun!

Dragon boats!

On our third day, Sherman told us that we were "clumsy in the water" and so we had some challenges in the pool and on the Inner Dock! I was a sandcastle builder. :) Sarah and our friend Jessica were blindfold canoe-ers. :) It was pretty funny. :)
After all of the water games, we were sprayed with "snow"! (It was really like soap in a big hose or something). It was fun!
But then we had to get sprayed off and it was realllllly cold. :|

The "snow"
Later that day, Sarah and I went kayaking! It was really fun. We were in the Outer dock, and it was a lot more open feeling than the Inner Dock. There were a lot of seals around, and on the fourth day we saw one REALLY close by!

Ashley, me, Sarah, Jessica, and Belen all went on the hike!
That afternoon, we went on a hike to some viewpoint. Most of the time we were scrambling madly up boulders, trying not to fall, but it was worth it. It was really really pretty! -->

That night, they set up "Late Night at the Malibu Club" in the club room and they had it all set up like Hollywood... There was a camera on an interviewer who would interview campers about to go into the club room... and behind him was a screen with a print on it like in TV shows and things. :)

Ooooh! Aaaah!!!
Me & Sar :)
The show in the club room was SO funny! All the leaders were doing skits and things! Some of them were a Hunger Game synopsis, or a kid getting ready to drive with his dad for the first time, but you had no idea it was his dad, because he had a clipboard and was checking everything. Then the "driving instructor" pulled away from a gas station with out paying, was telling the kid to speed up, and it was really funny, since everyone thought it was an instructor. Then at the end, the kid was like, "I'm never driving with you again, dad!" And then we all got it. It was REALLY funny! There were some gross skits too.... but.... yeah. It was gross. ;)

This was the night that Sherman was going to destroy Malibu! We had Buzz and Jesse and Woody come, and they resolved everything... Jesse ended up with Woody, Buzz and Swag ended up together, and Sherman's daughter, Princess Louisa (The inlet at Malibu was Princess Louisa Inlet.) came back with Prince Eric and at first Sherman was surprised but still wanted to destroy Malibu. Then Princess Louisa told Sherman she was going to have a baby and  he would be a grandfather! (To which he responded, "ARE YOU KID-DING ME?!?!" It was funny.) Then he got all nice and told us that he wanted Malibu to be available for his grandchild, and stuff like that. It was fun!! All this time when the characters were fixing everything up, they were talking in songs, so the lyrics sort of went with the situation. It was really well done, and it was hilarious to see Sherman singing multiple verses of "Part of that World" from the Little Mermaid. And he ended up as a human, too.)

So later that night they "brought people back from the future" to show Sherman that people of all decades could have fun!
Our cabin was from the '80s, and others were in togas, or from the '70s, etc. It was fun to see everyone dressed up! That night we had a big dance party on the dock (well, sort of on the dock.) and listened/danced to music from throughout the decades. :) And then we all jumped in the pool!

On the fifth day, we got up early before breakfast and we headed over to the ropes course! It was sort of hard, but it was short and it was fun!
At the end of it, you could leap for a bar but Sarah didn't want to, so she just jumped off, but she didn't expect to fall as much as she did (even though it was short), so she was screaming, but then the ropes caught her, and it was like "AAAAAAA-OOF!" very suddenly. It was really funny. :)

That day, Sarah and I decided to go on the caribe. It's like a banana shaped inflatable boat that is getting pulled behind a motor boat, and most of our cabin mates had done it, but we were afraid to. But we decided that it's better to try it and realize you don't like it than leave thinking that you would have. But, we didn't like it that much. I'm still glad I did it though. :)
Pinterest! ;) I ♥ this quote!
That night at club we had time to sit outside and think about all the stuff that we learned that week, and reflect on what Jesus did for us.

The 6th, day we told Sherman that now that he's in human's world, he should learn our customs, so that day was sort of a Christmas in July. It was fun, but sort of weird because it was so themed, and it didn't feel like Christmas at all!!!
Later THAT night at club, the speaker told us how we have the opportunity to "get under the waterfall" with God. (It was an analogy from a story he told.) We had another quiet time outside, and then we went back into the club room and could say if this was the first time you decided to follow God, or how Malibu changed you, or, that Malibu made your relationship with God stronger (which we said). That was basically our final day... On the 7th day we mostly cleaned out things.

Oh, there was also this yummy yummy ice cream shop and one day Sarah and I got a Mango-7Up float... hahah sorry that was random but I got all excited about it. :))))

Overall, Malibu was an AWESOME camp and definitely one of the best weeks of my life! I might have forgotten to say some of the things we did, but it was truly an AWESOME week!! :)

A full day!

Yesterday was pretty full! Our uncle, aunt and cousins from Canada came down from around lunch until after dinner/dessert. During it, though, we saw Brave!
Well, let's start with the previews. One of them that got me excited was MONSTERS UNIVERSITY!!! It's Monsters Inc, before they were at Monsters Inc! Click and scroll down on the webpage to see the trailer!! It looks good!
Also, we saw a trailer for the Hobbit. :)))))) ooooh, boy...... That got us really excited!! :DDD Can't wait!

And the short for Brave was SO cute! It was called "La Luna" and I wanted it to be a whole movie and not just a short! It was about this little boy and his dad and his grandpa getting on a little boat and climbing to the moon! The moon was made of a layer of stars on the surface and they rearranged them so that the only part that glowed was the stars, which they made into a crescent, not a full moon. It was really good. You should look it up. :)

SPOILER ALERT:There is a link to a picture (not the actual picture) that reveals more about the plot than you'd know from the trailers. But it's a good picture, so we included it. :)

Merida and her horse, Angus
An exciting moment.
LINK: Don't click this if you haven't seen the movie, unless you want to get spoiled.

The triplets were so cute!! :D
Well, it wasn't at all what I expected-- I think they purposely kept parts-- well, a major plot line--quiet so that it could be a surprise. All the trailers and pictures had a pretty small part in the movie. It was really good though, and the soundtrack was good, too! And the animation of her hair was really good.

After the movie, we  came home and relaxed. We played Life with our cousins until dinner time, and then after dessert they left. It was a fun day!
